"Cold & Frosty Morning" shows off the instrumental
prowess of founding member and fiddler David Mannheimer. On "Green Rolling
Hills," it's Chuck Dunnagan on the banjo who takes the lead. Dunnagan, another
founding member, also penned many of the original tunes.
One of the best parts of the CD occurs when McLeod transcends
the traditional. The ballad "Dream Time Lovin" gives a mysterious aura by
effectively using harmonic guitar picking and a haunting fiddle line. In
"Across the Great Divide," Mannheimer sings of life's passages ably backed by
Marianne See. The banjo is slow and sweet, giving the song a country sound.
